OUR philosophy

Sauna is a magical place where people can turn off their screens, disconnect to the outside world and reconnect the one within. We built Sunnd to help people reconnect to themselves, their environments and their communities.

We don’t have a timer in our sauna as we encourage guests to listen to their bodies and trust their instincts, rather than trying to push themselves. Every body is different and every day feels different. So we take a deep breath and reconnect to yourself.

Sunnd was inspired by slow and seasonal living. Allowing you to take the time to slow down and experience the changing environment around you and be one with the rhythms of the earth.

Our logo depicts the moon and the sun, showing us the original contrast therapy and how we can learn from our wonderful natural world.

ABOUT US

We’re Luke and Liv, the founders of Sunnd Sauna. After Liv fell in love with the joys of saunas while hosting Soul Water Sauna in Edinburgh and then Orchard Sauna in Bristol, Luke simultaneously fell in love with the idea of handcrafting an artisanal sauna. The seed of Sunnd was planted.

We built Sunnd into an old vintage horse trailer in a beautiful ancient apple orchard on the outskirts of Bristol. Every aspect is hand crafted with love and care.

Luke now works for local sauna builders, Out Of The Valley, where he helps craft new beautiful saunas for more people to enjoy.

THE JOURNEY

In October 2024 after the final nail had been hammered in, Sunnd was finally ready for her debuting journey all the way from Bristol to Edinburgh. We spent the first two months hosting wonderful friends, sauna-ing next to the beautiful Scottish Lochs and enjoying sharing our creation.

After hitching up and returning back down South, we began planning for a big adventure to France. Have a look at our Instagram to see what went on, but it’s safe to say it was quite the adventure… After our dreams of parking up next to the ski slopes was quashed by mechanical issues we rerouted to Fontainebleau where we operated in a campsite for climbers to sauna after a day on rock.

This summer, back in the UK, held lots of pop up events and festivals which we absolutely loved, but we felt the pull to create a more lasting sense of community through our sauna. Which led us to now being set up at Outside, Devon. A multiuse hub with a cafe, skate bowl, ceramic studio, shaping bay and farm. We are hunkered down here for the winter offering weekly sessions to fuel your sense of community and connection.
